I have a 12 degree King Cobra M Speed regular shaft driver with the face closed 3 degrees that I hit between 200-230 yards with lots of height on the drive. Lots of height. I have no trouble getting the ball in the air.

Would shifting to a 10 degree loft (with all the same parameters as shown above) give me more distance or just a lower flying drive?

A 12 degree loft on a driver is too much and will contribute to excessive height and loss of yardage. Try switching to a 10 degree lofted driver. The best thing to do is visit your local driving range and ask to demo some different drivers. There you can get a good feel for what works best for you.
