Match Play Games

Match Play games are those which are staged as head to head competition. These games can be for two people, or two teams. In Match Play, each hole is more important than the sum of all holes. These are great games for those of you who don't want to risk losing everything because of a bad hole or two.

Standard Match Play

Two players, or two teams playing head to head. The side with the most holes won wins the match.

Nassau

the same as Standard Match Play except that there are 3 ways to win. Front Nine, Back Nine, and Overall. Adds more excitement to Match Play because there are more opportunities to win, lose, or draw.

Scramble

The scramble is played with either 2 or 4 golfer teams. Every player hits a tee shot, then the best tee shot per team is used as the location for the rest of that team's second shot. The best shot is chosen again and all team members hit from this spot. Repeat the process until someone sinks it in the hole. The team with the lowest score wins the hole. The team that wins the most holes, wins the match.

Alternate Shot

This game is played with two golfers per team. Each team plays only one ball, and shots are alternated between the team members. The team with the best score on each hole wins that hole. The team with the most holes won wins the match.

Wolf

Wolf is a four player game where each golfer takes a turn (in rotation) as being the wolf. The wolf tees off first The team (or lone wolf) with the lowest better ball score wins the hole. The golfer with the most points at the end of the round wins the match.
